Feng Shui Phone Numbers — Pick a Mobile That Supports Your Energy

How feng shui reads a mobile number, which digit combinations are auspicious, and what to avoid in your last four digits. A practical guide for Australian buyers.

In feng shui, numbers are living things — each one carries an energy that either supports or drains your life force. A mobile number is one of the digits you speak, type and hand out most often, so it's worth choosing with care.

The two main systems

Two frameworks dominate feng shui number reading:

  • Homophone method (谐音) — the sound of each digit in Cantonese or Mandarin. 8 (fa/prosper), 6 (liu/flow), 9 (jiu/enduring) are auspicious; 4 (si/death) is avoided.
  • Ba Zhai / eight-mansion (八宅) — pairs of digits (1-4, 2-3, 5-8, 6-7 and their partners) map to eight energies: sheng qi (life-giving), tian yi (heavenly doctor), yan nian (longevity), fu wei (stability) — and the four unlucky ones.

The strongest auspicious pairs (Ba Zhai)

  • 1-4 or 4-1sheng qi (生气): opportunity, wealth, expansion.
  • 1-3 or 3-1yan nian (延年): longevity and relationships.
  • 1-6 or 6-1fu wei (伏位): stability and self-reinforcement.
  • 1-7 or 7-1tian yi (天医): health, recovery, support.

A last four like 1414, 6161 or 8888 combines two of these patterns and is considered exceptional.

Combinations to avoid

  • 4-2 / 2-4jue ming (绝命): sudden ending.
  • 5-9 / 9-5wu gui (五鬼): five ghosts, obstacles.
  • Any pattern ending on a lone 4 in the last two digits — traditionally read as loss.

Note: in Chinese culture "4" is unlucky by sound alone. Vietnamese and some Buddhist readings treat 4 as neutral. In Western numerology 4 is stability. Context matters.

Universally strong combinations

  • 168 — "one road to prosperity" (一路发).
  • 888 — triple prosperity, the most-searched premium ending in Australia.
  • 168168, 6688, 1618 — layered wealth combinations.
  • 999 — "long-lasting" — heavenly and enduring energy.

Practical picking rules

  • The last four digits matter most — they're what people remember and what feng shui reads most heavily.
  • Avoid a mix where lucky and unlucky pairs cancel each other out (e.g. 88 next to 42).
  • If you're picking for a business, prioritise sheng qi (wealth) pairs. For personal use, tian yi (health) pairs.
